Ben buys a cat called Iggy from a local pet shop who  tells him about Eidolon , the secret country in the shadow world filled with mythical creatures . Ben finds out that Mr Dodds, the cruel pet shop owner, is smuggling creatures from Eidolon in order to make money. Ben encounters Twig, a wood sprite, Silver, a selkie and Xarkanadushak (Zark for short ),  a dragon.
