My Sister Is a Vampire - by Freya.B

 My sister's a vampire!!!

 By Freya Blundel

This is about two twins, Ivy and Olivia they are both high school girls but there is a twist, Ivy is a vampire or super goth!

In this book Ivy and Olivia go to Transylvania to check out a new vamp school for Ivy, but will a royal wedding go to plan as the bride looks unhappy. Olivia is trying to get a V.A.M.P. magazine report ready in time but will her deadly illness go in time?

I recomend this book to any girl aged 7-10

(there are lots of different titles in the series, they are all good)

Candyfloss/Jacqueline Wilson by Isobel

This book is about a girl with frothy hair like candyfloss, whose name is Flora Barnes. She lives with her Dad at his greasy spoon cafe. Unfortunately they can't keep Charlie's Cafe, which is turned into a Starbucks. They buy a chip van, but it burns down so they move to the funfair and meet Rose, the candy floss lady, who looks after them. Flora makes friends with a girl called Susan after falling out with her first friend, Rhiannon. Rhiannon makes friends with Judy and Margot.
Flora is a brilliant character and I recommend this book to 8 year olds and over!

Anne Frank/Susanna Davidson by Isobel

This book is all about Anne Frank, who was a Jewish girl who wrote a diary in World War 2. She had to live in a special annexe because the Nazis hated the Jewish people and Anne and her family were in danger of being sent to a concentration camp. People did not often come back from the camps.
In 1938 Anne heard of Kristallnacht, or the Night of Broken Glass when Nazis beat up Jewish people, smashed home and shop windows and burnt 1000 synagogues (a Jewish church).

Anne and her family lived in Amsterdam in the Netherlands, which the Nazis invaded in 1940.
Anne stayed as cheerful as she could throughout the war, even when she caught typhus in the camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau. This was to keep her older sister Margo happy. Anne died of typhus in 1945 but now she's become famous! I would recommend this book to 8 years and over!

Atticus the Storyteller 100 Greek myths - Simeon

This is a collection of 101 Greek myths told by Atticus the story teller. He was a real person. My favourite myth was the cuckoo's trick because I like Greek myths and also it's quite a funny story. It's about Zeus wanting to marry Hera when Zeus gives Hera tons of magical presents and the present that I liked most was a flower that bloomed a different colour each day. But interestingly Hera still wouldn't marry Zeus. Then Hera said that Zeus wouldn't be able to marry her until Zeus would be able to sit on her lap without her noticing. Then Zeus stomped of to his palace and made the most enormous thunder storm ever and turned in to a cuckoo and flue to Hera's palace thro the rain. now I wont tell you any more because that would be giving the story away but I do recommend this book to year threes for their topic of ancient Greece.
