Anne Frank/Susanna Davidson by Isobel

This book is all about Anne Frank, who was a Jewish girl who wrote a diary in World War 2. She had to live in a special annexe because the Nazis hated the Jewish people and Anne and her family were in danger of being sent to a concentration camp. People did not often come back from the camps.
In 1938 Anne heard of Kristallnacht, or the Night of Broken Glass when Nazis beat up Jewish people, smashed home and shop windows and burnt 1000 synagogues (a Jewish church).

Anne and her family lived in Amsterdam in the Netherlands, which the Nazis invaded in 1940.
Anne stayed as cheerful as she could throughout the war, even when she caught typhus in the camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau. This was to keep her older sister Margo happy. Anne died of typhus in 1945 but now she's become famous! I would recommend this book to 8 years and over!

  1. Anne Frank was an amazing person. Her diary really helps you to understand what it was like during World War II. Mrs Armstrong
